Balik Eskwela 2011

In the afternoon, immediately after the fun run activity, another project of Junior Chamber International - Cotabato Chapter was the "Balik-Eskwela 2011" thru the initiative of JCI member Karen Ampatuan as the project chair. This was her first and only project during my term.

The club distributed school supplies and foods for the less fortunate. Thanks for all the sponsors and donors of this activity, this would not be possible without their help.

"Takbo Kontra Droga 2011"

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in partnership with Junior Chamber International - Cotabato Chapter had a fun run joint project last June 26, 2011 in celebration of PDEA's International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) with the theme "Mahalin ang Kalikasan, Kalusugan Ingatan, Droga'y Iwasan". It was a run for a cause. According to one of the PDEA agent, the purpose was "to raise people's awareness to the highest level the number one menace of the society, the dangerous drugs, and its ill effects."

The assembly time was at 5:00 o"clock in the morning and assembly area at Cotabato City People's Palace. On-site registration was also accepted during assembly time followed by a warm-up exercise. Instructions and run route were given thereafter. Fun Run started at 5:45 in the morning from the assembly area to the arrival area at Cotabato City Plaza.

Short program was being held after all the runners arrived. Welcome address was supposed to be given by me being the chapter president but due to some unavoidable circumstances I wasn't able to deliver my welcome address, someone else did already. Right after, Atty. Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi, the City Administrator, delivered her short message as our Guest Speaker.

It was a fun-filled activity. There was also raffle and McDonald's activity. Thereafter, closing remarks was given by Lt. Col. Edwin F. Layese (ret.), Director II and acting Regional Director of PDEA-ARMM. The activity ended with manifesto and awarding ceremony.
