COTABATO CITY – December 4, 2010 – The Junior Chamber International – Cotabato Chapter  (Cotabato Jaycees, Inc) will celebrate its Diamond Anniversary on Saturday, December 11, 2010 and is honoured to have as keynote speaker  the Governor of the Province of Maguindanao, Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu.  Established on August 13, 1949, the premier and only leadership organization in Cotabato City, JCI-Cotabato aims to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. In the more than six decades of existence, the local organization has produced notable public servants and   business leaders in the likes of Former Mayor Juan “Johnny” Ty, Hector “Ike” Palileo, Cotabato City Councilor Dr. Ed Rabago, Oscar Tan Abing, Sr., Estrellita “Neng” Juliano-Tamano, Atty. Dominador Pizarro and Colight VP and Resident Manager Crisente M. Ferolino.

Apropos to its Diamond Celebration is the 62nd Induction and Turn-over Ceremonies of the incoming officers led by JCIM Caroline M. Untong  as the 2011 Local Organization (L.O.)President .  The Red Carpet event will highlight not only the reunion of the past and present officers and members of this prestigious organization but also expects the presence of the TOYM awardees , Congressman Simeon Datumanong, Archbishop Orlando  Quevedo, OMI and Cotabato City Water District Manager, Atty. Delfin Hilario.  The Chapter will also be joined in its celebration by the Twin Star Jaycees, Makilala Jaycees led by their Honorable Mayor Rudy Caoagdan and other chapters from Central Mindanao.

The organization is currently headed by JCIM Ma. Lourdes “Malot” Juliano, a private practicing lawyer, and this year, she led her officers and members to various opportunities for self development thru the projects “Batang YLEA”,  “Bantay-Halalan 2010” , “Pista ng Bayan: Medical and Legal Services para sa mga Cotabateño” and the very recent “Oktoberfest 2010”.  In the next few days, JCI Cotabato will be singing their hearts out, carolling with the Marines in the hopes of spreading out Christmas joy and happiness among the people of Cotabato City.
JCI Cotabato continues to accept members from 18 to 40 years old coming from divergent professions and careers that seeks to experience a special non-formal leadership training and development . Through 60 years of non-stop operations, JCI Cotabato survive mainly through the spirit of volunteerism. All of its programs and projects are conducted on self-liquidating basis. Resource mobilization for projects and programs then becomes the main areas of training in local as well as national and international operations.
