On June 2011, Cotabato City was struggling to remove waterlilies and hyacinths that clogged the Rio Grande de Mindanao which caused the massive flooding in some of the areas in the city.
A three (3) day distribution of relief goods by the GMA Kapuso Foundation for the flood victim was held on June 15-17, 2011. This activity was in partnership with Marine Battalion Landing Team-7, Philippine National Red Cross, Junior Chamber International- Cotabato, City Government of Cotabato at Cotabato City Central Pilot School, Sinsuat Avenue, Cotabato City.
On its 1st day of relief operation, the team went to Central Pilot Elementary School evacuation center. The other areas in the city visited by the team were the Matampay Bridge area, Tamontaka and Esteros.
