The first project of JCI Cotabato for year 2011 during my term was the free Influenza A (H1N1) virus vaccination and blood pressure monitoring in coordination with the City Health Medical Staff on Health Services of Cotabato City which spearheaded by then Baby Jaycee Stephen Henry Chin. It was a two-day activity held on January 12 and 13 last year. Among the recipients were Marine Battalion Landing Team-7, Cotabato Light and Power Company employees, families and members of JCI-Cotabato, and other residents of Cotabato City. There were 279 dosages given to the target recipients.The objective of the project was to be able to support the community-wide immunity against Influenza A (H1N1) virus which was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) during the post-pandemic period. After two (2) days of vaccination, we were able to get feedback from the community, accordingly it provides immunity to the system against the flu A (H1N1) virus.
