Smile at Life

I just finished reading the book of Dr. A'id al-QarniYou can be the happiest woman in the world". One paragraph caught my attention and i want to share it with you:

When you smile even though your heart is filled with worry, you reduce your suffering and open a door to the way out. Do not hesitate to smile, for inside you there is a kind of energy full of smile. Beware of suppressing it, for that means that you are strangling yourself with pain and suffering. it will not harm you if you smile, even when you are talking to others about serious matters from the depths of your heart. how wonderful it is when our lips speak the language of smiles!

So today im gonna infect all the people around me with my charming, sweet, contagious smile. Smile at life, everyone!! =)

La Bocca Della Verita

Just for fun, i tried this palm reading machine called la bocca della verita or simply means "the mouth of truth" in one of the shopping centers in Davao. I dont want to believe what this machine has to say but my friend gave me the coin that will be inserted in the machine so i had no choice but to try it and get thrilled. When i inserted the coin in the machine, i inserted my left hand into the mouth without hesitation, and the printout comes out of the machine. Very much ready to read it, i grab the paper and the mouth of truth tells me that sex and food hold particular attraction for me (whew! i started to doubt if this machine is really reliable hehe),that i am extremely sensitive and have very fine tastes (i guess this one is true), that i am always able to dominate people and situations (not really!), that i am sometimes over idealistic and i should learn to be more cautious to avoid disappointment (maybe right), that a more regular life style and a little bit of exercise can save me from the health problems i am prone to (i started to worry about this) and that tired nerves and anxiety makes me apprehensive, I seem almost incapable of ever achieved tranquility (my place of tranquility is my room).

To believe or not to believe, i had fun though!

Up Close and Personal with Atty. Adel Tamano

Atty. Adel Tamano is the epitome of goodness. I like him not because he is a fellow Muslim, a lawyer and not to mention good looking. His cool demeanor makes me admire him even more and the fact that he always stand by what is right. Also, I am always fascinated by his smile and his words. He always give the best speech there is.

This photo was taken in 2007 during the Induction Party of Junior Chamber International - Cotabato Chapter where I was inducted as the Assistant Secretary at that time at Pacific Heights Hotel in Cotabato City. I was really amazed by his speech wherein he was talking about leadership. Pretty interesting. Too bad that I wasn't able to record it so I can hear it over and over again. =) It is really such an honor being associated with famous and respected people like him. Few are given privileged.
Joining lunch with him is also such a big deal for me. I will never forget that he offered me tutorial on Constitutional Law, it doesn't matter whether or not he said it with sincerity. The point, I was able able to talk to him, meet him up close and personal. And one thing, I couldn't believe i was dancing with the future Senator of the Philippines. Just in case you don't know, he really dances well. Thankgoodness he stayed at the party the whole night.

Hope to talk to you again pretty soon, atty.!=)

Ghost from my Past

The best part of being in love is when you love a person and be happy about it, even if that person can never be yours, even if you know that it can not last forever! That is the true essence of love. It is not about winning someone. It is not about owning a relationship. It is just about being happy because you know you have loved someone. It is about being guiltless because you know you did not take away someone from anybody. You just love and love unselfishly..

I do not like the things I am seeing. I do not like the things I am thinking. I always keep thinking the man of my dream, a ghost from my past. I still  wonder why things did not last. Some good things never last, as we say. I can not help but wonder. Now he has found a new love, i know. But I never imagined it would hurt this much. He once looked at me the way he is looking at her now. What a lucky girl. But somehow I also feel lucky that I let him go because the thing we once had was filled with fury and jealousy. The relationship was no longer healthy so I felt the need to get out of it as fast as I could and felt the need to breathe. Leaving him was somehow justified. I never stopped loving him, though. But I learned how to live without him.

I just want to love myself more and be happy being single, for now, because I know someday someone will walk into my life and make me realize why it never worked out with the person I thought I would end up with. He might just be around the corner.

No more worries. This too shall pass! =)

What Legal Doctrine Am I?

I took a quiz (what legal doctrine are you?) in my facebook account with the result Res Judicata. i was amazed by the result. i read it in disbelief. Here it goes:

This doctrine says that once something is established by a court and safe from appeal, it cannot be relitigated by the same parties. You only want to do something once, and then it's good for all time. You don't like second chances. You don't like to change your mind. You feel everyone gets one good shot and that's what they get. Fairness is about process, not results.

I do believe in second chances, if they can prove their worth.. (*winks) =)

A Sweet Letter from Hanan

This is one of the few letters that i always received from a friend. Hanan wrote it:
"After four years of knowing her…I would say she is a class of her own!
2000 was a year of adventures and a myriad of experiences. It was sometime in June that I first met this audacious young lady. Ignoring her would be the last thing you could do because you simply cannot ignore a beauty like her; gorgeous and alluring with a sense of style; truly fashionable.
Liberated was simply my first impression. She aws some kind of a wacky who does not give a damn and an easy-go-lucky girl.
As i get to know her i began to realize that my impressions are wrong. Inside these revealing dresses is an enigmatic woman.
One of the best opportunities that nature has offered to me was the chance of getting to know her more. People may judge her differently but this judgment is nothing but a nullity because there is more than meets the eyes and our eyes always deceive us. The surface may look rough but deep within it is a precious and priceless substance of gold in its most expensive karat.
My friendship with her became stronger when we were in our third year. It was during those times that I truly discovered her true nature. She is simply a lady who is always in love with herself and with the world. A passionate and selfless lover who would do anything and everything for the one she loves. Pleasing her man became her utmost obsession.
A sweet and caring friend who never lets a day pass without ringing my number.
In times of disagreements, she prefers to walk out from the group. To her, this is more honorable than saying a word that might hurt someone. This kind of attitude makes me admire her much for I myself never have it.
Another amazing thing about her is her grace. Everybody would agree with me that no one in the College of Law walks more graceful than her. She has this calmness even in the brink of very high pressures. No matter how hard the day is she always manages to smile.
Nobody could ever tell how friendly she is because her charisma is undoubtedly magnanimous. What is also fascinating about her is the kind of emphaty she has. She always knows what to do and what to give. With every compliment you give her she pays you back with a dinner at the barbeque stand. That is why my friend Suharto and I love to give her compliments. He he he!!!
Seriously, despite our differences we manage to be real good friends and share many things in common. If i have to choose between the most precious of stones and her I would surely pick her. the friendship she has shared to me is one of life’s best gifts.
CAROLINE is a lady with an inexplicable kindness and with a sense of style!"
And for this, i love you my dear Hanan. :)

Ukay-ukay Mania

There was one time when my boss (the honorable lady judge) dragged me to a place i have never been to, the ukay-ukay. Together with my colleague, we happily submit to our judge's demand =).
Being a first timer, i had a hard time choosing the best clothes there is. Why so? Because im not really a fan of ukay-ukay and i have no patience digging clothes in bulk knowing that i want to find the simpliest elegance that suits my needs and my taste. Having faith in beginner's luck and with the great help of joy, jolay and madam judge, i got to find one old rose tanktop, one red sleeveless and one navy blue shirt for my lyka.not bad! tell u, i had fun! and we continue finding till our stomach shouting for food.. and so we immediately went to mall, had our lunch there, our judge's treat! there she told us to have a part 2 ukay ukay mania! well yes, if she insist. but im not gonna go there again by myself. so much with the ukay-ukay considering the peril in this town (*winks)..=)

Coyly Sexy

I'm sensual and sweet, I would rather spend an entire evening trading flirty innuendos with a guy over cappuccino than just get down to the bump and grind back home (not that i don’t enjoy that part, eventually!). As far as style goes, it’s the bit of shoulder i show or the dangly earrings accenting my neck that make me feel foxy, not displaying a 12- by 12-inch square of stomach. I'm mysterious, feminine and love being a puzzle for men to figure out. It’s not that I am necessarily shy about what i want; I simply relish teasing out each part of the seduction process.I’ll be the ultimate combo of demure and downright delicious.

Date with the Kids

Guided by the tenets of JCI Creed that "service to humanity is the best work of life", a Feeding and Medical Consultation Program for the residents of Brgy. Rosary Heights 12, Cotabato City in partnership with the City Government of Cotabato, Department of Health and Brgy. Rosary Heights 12 was conducted by JCI Cotabato Chapter as we celebrate pre-valentines day on February 13, 2011.

Other services such as Blood Pressure Monitoring and Free Influenza A H1N1 Vaccination were also made successful by the volunteer nursing students and nurses of DOH. More than 80 kids enjoyed the snacks and lunch we have prepared for them. Toys, Slippers, Toothbrush and Toothpastes, soaps, school supplies, noodles and etc were also given away for the kids of the said Barangay. Basic training of proper washing of hands were also conducted.

It really feels great to be of help to people.

Martial Law in Maguindanao

On December 2009, at the heights of Martial Law in Maguindanao, i wrote this in my old blog and want to share it here:

It is in the news today! President GMA has ordered a state of martial law in Maguindanao effective today. I am wondering if Cotabato City will be included considering Cotabato City is a chartered City. But i think it would be best to include Cotabato City. But the question is, will it be an effective way of preventing or suppressing lawless violence in Maguindanao including Cotabato City? Some say a limited state of emergency is sufficient to address these problems. Others say  Martial Law is the better solution. But it may mean violation of human rights. I say, whatever! Imagine how exciting if they impose curfews in the city (wala ka ng makikitang mga suspicious and scary looking sa lansangan hehe). I am so looking forward to experiencing martial law. =)

Deleting my Old Blog is not Easy

Blogging is one way of expressing your thoughts, it was in 2008 when I started blogging. I write about life in general, love, fashion, my emotions, my daily activities and any topic there is on earth.  My first blog was entitled "from her beautiful mind". But for some reason my blog was a total wreck. Something went wrong with the page elements. because of that I decided to create this  new blog account and delete the old one. I do not want to delete my old posts so i will re-write some of them here.
